Using the Importer to import assets into your scene in VR

When your have assets such as 3d model files that you wish to import into your scene, you can use MARUI’s “Importer”.
Here is a video that shows how to use the importer:

You can open the importer either in VR from the MARUI Window Manager or before entering VR from the MARUI shelf tab.

The Importer icon
Here you can add new files to the list of imports. All files that Maya can import are supported.

When you press the “Import” button next to an item, MARUI will import it into your Maya scene and attempt to place it in front of your VR headset.

The list of import items is saved automatically between Maya sessions.
It is saved into your Maya preferences directory as “MARUI_Importer.mel”.
(eg.: C:\Users\YourName\Documents\Maya\2020\prefs\MARUI_Importer.mel”).
You can edit, copy, or delete this file freely.
